Super-Villains Picket the Arms Fair

On Friday 8th of September Striking Super-Villains from all over the universe will gather to picket the arms fair, to protest being put out of the job by human human-rights abusers from all over the planet facilitated by the arms fair and the UK government.

If the picket line keeps out the arms-dealing scabs trying to set up the arms fair we can stop it going ahead!

This picket-line will be running alongside Conference at the Gates: Academics Against the Arms Fair. They will be running a lecture on Pop-Culture and Militarism.

When: Friday 8th September 2017, 10am-2pm

Where: Outside DSEI Arms Fair – Excel centre, Connaught Roundabout – East London (Nearest DLR stations Royal Albert or Prince Regent)

How to get involved:

• Come along! Bright and early in your best super villian cosplay.
• If you can’t think of a good pop-culture super villian costume to do, just make one up! e.g. evil Spoon Wolverine. Or get in touch for suggestions for costume/banners.
• Bring banners asking for your villianous job back. e.g. “Killing Civilians is our Job!” or “All I wanted was Sharks with Frickin’ Laser Beams attached to their heads!”
• This will be a family-friendly, fluffy, funny action. Feel free to bring evil villians young and old!

** Safety advice: Please do not bring any fake (or real, looking at you DSEI) weaponary. Just banners and placards, remember they’re on strike.
