DESCRIPTION:Organised by Mad Hatter affinity group  (Trident Ploughshares)
  \, Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF UK)\n\nFam
 ily friendly walk lead by members of former Veterans for Peace UK\, Mad Ha
 tters will be in town crier costume to walk through Newham. Walkers will b
 e handing out fliers to shops\, cafes and passersby\, encouraging people t
 o protest at DSEI.  We will also stop at various points for town criers t
 o deliver their message.\n\nLed by former Veterans for Peace (VFP) UK memb
 ers who will carry wreaths in memory of all victims of the arms trade. Mad
  Hatters will be dressed in town crier costume.  WILPF UK women will wear
  purple headwear\, green sashes and carry white paper flower wreaths to re
 present our feminist (suffragist) focus.\n\nThe walk will go through Stra
 tford\, Plaistow and Canning Town. On the way the walkers will hand out le
 aflets through Newham at shops\, cafés and to passers-by\, encouraging 
 local people to join the protests at the Defence and Security Internatio
 nal arms fair (DSEI) held at the ExCeLCentre at the Royal Victoria Dock.\n
 \nOn arrival at ExCel Centre we will go to the side of the dock oppos
 ite ExCeL to hold a ceremony during which former VFP members will c
 ast the wreaths into the dock remembering particularly the victims of re
 cent wars who have been killed by weapons supplied by the arms trade for w
 hich such arms fairs form the shop window.\n\nAs a feminist peace movement
 \, WILPF UK works towards disarmament\, anti-militarism\, equality\, gende
