‘A Portrait of Resistance’: Campaigning Against the Arms Trade | SHORT FILM
As the ExCel Centre throws its doors open yet again to sell guns, tanks and killer drones this September, Art The Arms Fair will be setting up shop on Mayfair’s Brook Street selling editions and products by a fantastic roster of artists in partnership with Art Represent and Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT).
As part of this year’s exhibition, and to mark the nomination of CAAT and Mwatana for Human Rights for the Nobel Peace Prize, the exhibition will also feature 12 portraits by acclaimed photographer, Cindy Sasha, commissioned by CAAT, celebrating CAAT’s many campaigners and supporters and their landmark ongoing legal case challenging arms sales to Saudi which have had a devastating effect in Yemen.
The portraits are also accompanied by a short film, produced by Siana Bangura, edited by Chloe Deakin and narrated by Amina Atiq.  The film will premiere on CAAT’s YouTube channel at 7pm on Saturday 11th September after CAAT Universities’ Digital Conference at the Gates.
