Campaign Against Arms Trade‘s student focused action against DSEI is back for 2021, and this time it’s calling on science students! The arms trade relies on scientific research and STEM graduates to build their weapons, but most liberation initiatives in education focus on the social sciences. This year, (Digital) Conference at the Gates is focusing on understanding how STEM and healthcare education fits in with our vision for an accessible and liberated education and how that leads to a demilitarised, safer world.
Join online on the 11th September to learn and discuss how militarism and securitisation impacts STEM education and professions, and what that means for the most vulnerable members of our communities. Most importantly, you’ll be equipped with the tools to fight for the demilitarisation and decolonisation of your campuses and education.
Speakers and workshop facilitators will include: Myriam Kane, Warwick Occupy and Demilitarise Education.
